The 4 Phases of Freedom Farms & Greenhouses

Classroom Gardens & Science

One 4x4 square foot garden bed per classroom allows students at our partner elementary schools the opportunity to engage science, grow food, & try new fruits & vegetables! Several hundred pounds of produce went home with students from the school gardens in 2018-19 & we hope to double the impact next year!

Community Gardening

One large community garden allows us to grow food together with our neighbors that goes home with our community! We are growing food together, sharing it together, and enjoying the time learning together about all the tips, tricks, & techniques that our expert partners like Langston University’s Department of Agriculture brings to the table!

Greenhousing & Aquaponics

Our greenhouses are going to run off a state of the art aquaponics system which will be the “powerhouse” behind our production. aquaponic technology allows us to grow more than 80x the produce in the same square footage. This food will be marketed and sold to fund the business as well as generate income that gets reinvested into the community.

Small Animals/4H

4H is delivered through our partnership with Langston University. Langston University’s experience in providing opportunities for young people, educating them with a focus on community makes this a natural and exciting partnership! 4H has given kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better for years! We are excited to teach 4H at our partner schools, show small animals, grow with young leaders & advocate together for equity and inclusion for all!

650+

pounds of veggies eaten

IN 2018, WE SENT HOME MORE than 650 pounds of FRUITS & vegetables WITH STUDENTS THAT THEY WORKED TOGETHER TO produce IN THEIR CLASSROOM GARDENS. COMBINED WITH OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN, THAT’S A LOT OF VEGGIES THAT WENT HOME OVER A VERY SHORT GROWING SEASON!

1200+

served by freedom farms

there are 3 phases of Freedom farms which includes school gardens for every classroom at our partner schools, a community garden, and a greenhouse production facility that allows students to grow produce for wholesale distribution & direct community sale.
